Winter Retreat 2016 Day 2

Another great day of stitching with Robin King. I am trying hard to absorb all the good ideas

that Robin has used on the wonderful canvases being stitched. Today’s lunch was a delicious

tomato soup with warm bread and coffee cake for desert , just perfect for this cool day.

Then back to more stitching. Here are some of the  works in progress.

Peter Asche Adobe Canvas with individual stitches for the separate dwellings.

Ikat by KHDesigns with laid filling stitches in neon colors.

Sunflowers by Melissa Prince with darning pattern background and leaves over stitched with green to

create dimension.

Purple Palm cactus canvas with great stitches for the arms of the cacti.

Off to dinner so will post more picture tomorrow.

GO CARDINALS!!!!

WInter Market Day 2 2016

This funky hearts design was the class I took today. I alwaysl like to take a class from Associated Talents as they do great things with beads.

Then it was back to the booth to help shops with their Quail Run Designs canvas purchases.

I did get out for some shopping today and my  finds included new colors in metallic braid and Japanese thread from Kreinik.

The next find was small buttons for embellishments.

I could not resist these mugs!

Threadnuts has some new colors in Painters Threads and gimp that are coming back to the shop.

There are new canvases coming back to the shop as well. I will take pictures tomorrow and post some if I have time.
Tomorrow is the last day and after the show closes everything has to be packed back up in trunks to be shipped back to the shop. It has been a great show but it is always nice to return home.

Winter Market Day 1 2016

Today started with an early breakfast and then off to a  7:45 am-9:45am class.  This adorable snowcone
was the project . I got some more great ideas for stitches and thread use from this class.

I did have to leave class a little early to get to the booth before the
shopping started. I forgot to take a picture of the booth but will post that tomorrow.

I was able to get some shopping done in between selling at the booth.
Here are just a few of the items coming to the shop and some great finishing ideas.

Two new books form Carol Lake and Michael Boren are coming to the shop.
Desert Island stitches borders books and Twisty Stitches is all about Amadeus and Jessicas for those who love these intricate stitches and all their variations.

Little Shoppe is coming out with a new stitch book ,Winter stitches in March 2016.

Elegant sewing kit from Dovo as well as new scissor are coming back to the shop.

Harlequin laying tools in two different sizes are not only colorful but functional.

Speckled beads great for bird”s eggs, animals eye and
much more.

Hearts and flower beads  that wil be great for those Valentine canvases.

And now for some great finishing ideas. This tray is so darn cute with its corn on the cob handles.

My absolute favorite was this Currier and Ives scene in a frame with shutters. So reminiscent of the Christmas cards we use to receive.

Stay tuned tomorrow for more news from market.
